FatFace’s Story: Creating connective brand films ‘deeper’ than a simple commercial.
The Brief
The initial brief for the Spring 2023 campaign was to create a connective, almost documentary in feel, film that was more than a simple look-book.
The film needed to communicate FatFace’s core values of family, authenticity and fun.
The Outcome
It’s safe to say we delivered on the first project and have been lucky enough to work with FatFace again on two further projects since; Spring 2024 & Summer 2024.
The films have been screened in stores nation-wide and have been the lead content on the FatFace homepage.
A lifestyle commercial with a documentary feel
A one day shoot working seamlessly besides stills
Stills are the priority asset for FatFace. We’re required to work seamlessly alongside stills, shooting over the shoulder and taking our moments where we can.
We use a documentary inspired approach with a very lean crew. Using mostly natural light and reflectors we keep our set up very light weight. We move fast around the stills team and keeps the cast feeling natural and relaxed.
We develop bullet proof shot lists before the shoot that are ticketed of as we go. These shot-lists give us the confidence to go off script, bringing out the natural moments and following the cast as they become sidetracked.

Shooting lean allows us to keep budget down, works quickly through the creative and have minimal impact on the the talent.
