Case Study: Delivering UK film crew services for Swanson Studios
Quick Overview
In November 2023 we partnered up with the brilliant Swanson Studios, an Oregon based production studio who works with the likes of Nike and Google. They’re predominately a photography and design studio that also deliver great film work.
Swanson approached us to help them deliver a 3 day production across the whole of the UK with a UK film crew capable of delivering to their very high standards.
About the project
One of Swanson Studios major clients in Intuitive Surgical, one of the world’s fastest growing medical robotics companies.
Swanson Studios wanted to travel to the UK to capture the stories of a select number of surgeons that use the Intuitive system. Each surgeon would be photographed and interviewed in the hospitals where they were practicing.
Three cities, three days:
The Swanson Studio Team flew in for five days for a total of three days of production.
Swanson Studios had picked surgeons in Southampton, London and Oxford and required us to organise all accommodation, logistics, transport, crew and equipment for the production.
We shot every city back to back. At the end of each day we packed up all the gear and drove to the next city, arriving late, ready to shoot the next morning early.
We’re well versed working long days and were able to negotiate good rates with our crew, especially considering the overtime travel considerations.

A studio in a hospital
Each day his is a huge undertaking and required us to create a sound proof, film and photography studio within each hospital. We moved two entire vans worth of equipment in and out before and after the shoot.
What crew did we deliver?
This was a tight ship and Swanson needed a crew that would make things as easy as possible on the day.

We delivered an entire studio of equipment from camera and lighting, to grip, sound and props. We also organised two kit vans.
Because of our great relationships with local equipment houses we managed to get a great deal on all equipment rental.

Final Result
The 3 day production went very well with not a single set up delayed, or interview pushed back.
The production was nailed, and the most important thing was that the whole process was a lot of fun.
