Behind the Scenes: Producing a Global Brand Film Across Two Continents

An Image of Mike Tiedemann, managing director of AlTi Global.

When AlTi Global, a leading independent wealth and alternatives manager, reached out about creating their flagship brand film, we knew this was exactly the kind of challenge we love – a chance to tell a powerful story across multiple countries while pushing creative boundaries. Here’s an inside look at how we approached producing a high-end brand film spanning London and New York.

Meet AlTi: Where Global Scale Meets Personal Impact

AlTi Global isn’t your typical financial institution. With approximately $71 billion in combined assets under management and advisement, they’re redefining how global wealth management works. Operating across three continents, they bring together expertise in wealth management and strategic alternatives with a commitment to making positive impact through their investments.

What makes them particularly interesting from a storytelling perspective is how they blend global reach with personal service. Their approach combines the resources of a global institution with the personalized feel of a boutique firm – exactly the kind of nuanced story that great video content needs to capture.

The Brief: Capturing Global Scale with Local Impact

The project kicked off with an ambitious vision: create a 5-minute film that would capture not just AlTi’s capabilities, but their philosophy and approach to working with clients. The film needed to work across multiple platforms – from investor presentations to website content and internal communications. Most importantly, it needed to feel both premium and authentic – bringing to life not just the scale of their business but the human expertise behind it.

Planning Across Time Zones

One of the most exciting aspects of this project was coordinating simultaneous production efforts in London and New York. Working across time zones might sound challenging, but it’s where our agile approach really shines. As a video production company in London we had the London side of the production in hand. The big challenge was matching our exacting production standards in New York working alongside another crew. The key here is working with the very best crew you can afford in the local area. Don’t try to cut corners or make a profit, it’s about delivery, delivery, delivery.

Technical Excellence Meets Creative Vision

High-end corporate films are all about the details. We coordinated identical camera packages on both sides of the Atlantic to ensure perfect visual consistency. Our lighting setups were designed to create a signature look that would work across different office environments while still feeling natural and premium.

But the real magic happened in how we approached the storytelling. Instead of falling into standard corporate video tropes, we developed a creative approach that blended:

  • Cinematic interviews with key executives
  • Dynamic “day in the life” sequences
  • Sophisticated motion graphics
  • Carefully curated stock footage
  • Stunning cityscapes of both financial hubs

The Human Side of Finance

One of our core beliefs is that even in the most corporate environments, the best stories are human ones. Working with AlTi was a perfect example of this – their business might handle billions in assets, but at its heart, it’s about people helping people make smart decisions about their wealth and legacy.

We worked closely with key stakeholders across both London and New York offices to identify the stories and perspectives that would best bring their approach to life. This meant capturing everything from C-suite vision to the day-to-day reality of how they work with clients.

We designed our interview approach to draw out natural, engaging responses rather than rehearsed corporate speak. This meant taking time before each interview to really understand each person’s role and perspective, then shaping our questions to elicit authentic insights.

Bringing It All Together

Post-production is where everything comes together, and for this project, we pulled out all the stops. Our team developed a sophisticated graphics package that could visualize complex financial information without losing the human touch. The edit was crafted to maintain a perfect balance between corporate credibility and emotional engagement.

Lessons from Going Global

This project reinforced something we’ve always believed: that the best corporate videos don’t feel corporate at all. They tell real stories about real people doing meaningful work. Some key takeaways:

  1. Local expertise matters – having strong teams on the ground in each location is crucial
  2. Technical consistency is key – matching equipment and approaches across locations ensures seamless integration
  3. Human stories cut through – even in financial services, authentic human moments are what viewers connect with
  4. Flexibility wins – being able to adapt and problem-solve across time zones keeps complex projects moving forward

Looking Forward

As video becomes increasingly central to how global companies communicate, the ability to produce high-end content across multiple locations becomes ever more valuable. This project showcased what’s possible when you combine local expertise with global coordination – creating content that works as hard in the boardroom as it does on social media.

For us, it’s another example of how the lines between corporate and creative content are blurring. Today’s businesses need video that do more than just inform – it needs to engage, inspire, and move people to action. That’s exactly the kind of challenge we love taking on.
