Creative Job in Cornwall: Experienced Video Editor.
Start date: March-April (flexible on this)
Salary: £28-£32k
Location: Newquay, Cornwall.
Intro:
We’re looking for an experienced video editor to join our Cornwall team. You will be joining a fast growing video production and documentary studio in its Cornwall office. The type of work you do will be varied from national commercials for the likes of FatFace, documentaries for some of the UK’s most loved charities and donated free of charge local projects for causes we believe in.
About Us:
We (Ollie & Ed) started Here Now Films over 5 years ago with the sole aim of telling great stories about local projects, charities and brands. Ed’s a marine biologist who became a filmmaker and Ollie is a die hard creative. We’ve always had a bit of a David and Goliath attitude and like to think of ourselves always punching above our belt. Our favorite work are the documentary and conservation pieces we make, we also really love the commercials where we get to push ourselves technically. We want to create a company that delivers great work but also becomes a vessel to help some of the world’s most important charities and causes do big things. We donate a lot of our spare time and capital towards passion projects and we’d love you to be a part of this.
About You:
You are a driven, creative and positive individual who makes films because you love it, not just because it’s a great career. You are a very competent video editor who's got great experience working in the industry for at least 4 years. You may well be moving to Cornwall or already live here and are looking to leave the freelance life to join a team. You want to be a part of a fast growing company with plenty of room for personal growth and adventure. You are interested in the environment and conservation and are interested in traveling for work for passion projects. You will bring ideas and projects to the team as well as managing your time well to deliver for our clients.

What We’d Love From you:
Experience: At least 3-4 years working as a video editor either in a company or as a freelancer.
Workflow: You follow briefs well but also suggest potential directions.
Quality: Can build strong stories across different types of content.
Portfolio: A broad range of clients, content type and topics.
Software: High proficiency at Adobe Premiere Pro, can use After Effects.
Interest: Strong interest in current trends and content types.
Team Work: Ability to work with other in house creatives.
Independence: Can work directly with clients and deliver projects independently.
Great References: From 3 previous employers/clients.
Travel: You are happy to travel for work and will occasionally stay overnight on location.
What You Will Be Doing:
Brainstorming creative ideas and helping on pitching.
Working as one of the lead editors for Here Now Films.
Working directly with clients listening to feedback and facilitating amends.
Working on lead campaigns, socials and passion projects.
Managing freelance editors and junior editors.
Nice To Haves:
Camera Operator: If you can also shoot that is also a big bonus but really not a must. This is an editing role and we are looking for the best editor we can.
